Arch Materials, LLC began construction of the two underground slopes at their "Batavia Mine" on April 23, 2007, according to Jermika Smith, Administrator for Arch Materials. The slopes are progressing at the rate of about twenty-seven feet per shift.
Arch Materials has established a website, www.archmaterials.com to address frequently asked questions, employment qualifications, and contact information along with general information about what is currently happening at the underground mining operation. Vendors and suppliers can also find information on the website to assist them in submitting company and product information.
